Electronic Damper Control (EDC) automatically or manually adjusts damping force to suit road conditions. Vehicle movements that impact on driving response are monitored by sensors, the data from which is analysed and passed to the shock absorbers. These use magnetic valves to adapt damping force at continuously variable levels to changing road, load and driving conditions.
As a result, there’s a tangible reduction in driving movements when braking, or body movements caused by bumps, cornering or acceleration. It also increases driving safety, with reduced braking distances and improved ride comfort.
