Services and Apps in the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo.

Communication, information and entertainment – the Services and Apps in the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo keep you connected even when you’re on the road. The standard BMW Online, for example, offers access to current, location-based information such as weather, news, online searches and office functions. You can also use the convenient and secure smartphone apps such as Spotify – and many more – without any time constraints.

BMW ConnectedDrive.

Fitted as standard to all BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo models, BMW Navigation and BMW ConnectedDrive services combines unique technology to offer advanced mobility. BMW ConnectedDrive intelligently links the vehicle, driver and outside world. Intelligent interplay between online services, driver assistance systems, call centre services and integration solutions for smartphones provides BMW drivers with incredible entertainment, the right information at the right time and the reassuring feeling of greater safety.

Online Entertainment.

The perfect track for every situation, every road and every mood. Online Entertainment, included as part of Media Package - BMW Professional,  offers direct and unlimited access to more than 30 million tracks – all without a smartphone or any other device. As soon as an artist's song or album is played in the car, it is automatically downloaded to the car's hard disc, for guaranteed music enjoyment without any interruptions.

A flat-rate account with a year’s duration can be opened with any BMW music partner, such as Napster or Deezer, and used in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherland without any additional cost.

Concierge Services.

Concierge Services from BMW ConnectedDrive puts the BMW Call Centre at your fingertips while you’re on the road*.

Whether you’re looking for a particular restaurant, the nearest cash machine or an emergency pharmacy, a BMW Call Centre agent is always on hand to help and can send address details directly to your car’s navigation system on demand. Concierge Services operates independently of the driver's mobile phone and is available at home and abroad, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

*Concierge Services requires the ConnectedDrive Services equipment package and is available to purchase as an optional extra.

Real Time Traffic Information.

Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI), included as standard, provides the most up-to-date traffic information. Precise details of the time and duration of hold-ups are relayed in real time. The data is drawn from sources including movement profiles from the mobile phone network, the GPS data of vehicle fleets, smartphone apps and police reports.

This data is analysed so precisely that it is possible to localise traffic congestion to the nearest few metres. This enables RTTI to provide information in real time on the current traffic situation on motorways, main roads, country roads and numerous urban routes, and to recommend sound alternative routes.

The traffic information is clearly presented, with the roads depicted in green, yellow, orange and red. RTTI is available on an initial 3 year free subscription which can be extended for an additional cost via BMW ConnectedDrive Store, either directly from the car, or from the BMW ConnectedDrive Portal

BMW Emergency Call.

Available as standard across all BMW models, BMW emergency call guarantees fast, targeted assistance round-the-clock and support from trained staff in the driver's native language, even when abroad. If an accident takes place involving the activation of an airbag or the seat belt tensioners, a BMW emergency call is automatically issued. Relevant details such as the exact position of the car, the severity of the accident and the possible risk of injury to occupants are transmitted to the BMW Call Centre via the car’s built-in SIM card, i.e. independent of a private mobile phone.

The BMW Call Centre will inform the nearest rescue coordination centre and provide assistance over the phone until the rescue services arrive. The emergency call can also be triggered manually in case other road users require help, for example.
