BMW took its first step into international sport in Great Britain in 1982 when it launched the BMW Golf Cup International, which has since developed into the largest and most prestigious amateur tournament series in the world.
The BMW Golf Cup International is our way of providing a competitive and social environment that perfectly complements the lifestyle pursuits of BMW owners around the world. It provides a unique opportunity for BMW’s best amateur golfers to compete on an international level, matching their skills against players from around the world. Our commitment to international golf reflects the sporting and dynamic characteristics inherent in BMW vehicles, as well as those who choose to drive them.
In 2015, over 100,000 ambitious amateur golfers from 50 nations will play in tournaments around the world to qualify for the ultimate world title. A high level of competition, camaraderie and congenial atmosphere characterises both the preliminary rounds and the World Final.
Locally, the BMW Golf Cup Australian dealer tournaments were held between March and August this year. The winners from the Men’s A, Men’s B and Ladies’ categories will go on to represent their dealership at the Australian Final, to be held at Millbrook Resort in Queenstown, New Zealand in January 2016. Winners of the Australian Final have the privilege of representing our nation at the World Final, to be held at Fancourt Golf Resort, South Africa in March 2016.
