M Sports package standard on range-topping 335i M Sport
Higher level of standard specification across the range with unique optional Innovations Package now available on 320d, 325i and 330d.
New value damper technology for smoother and quieter ride

The new BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible receive elegant design enhancements, engine upgrades and higher standard specification as part of a mid-life model update for the range in Australia.

The range-topping BMW 335i Coupé and Convertible now feature the M Sport package as standard equipment and each boasts a newly developed straight-six cylinder power unit which for the first time combines BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology, High Precision Injection, and VALVETRONIC fully variable valve management.

The new BMW 320d Coupé and Convertible is now available with manual transmission and Automatic Start/Stop function giving a reduction in average fuel consumption by 0.8l/100km (0.7l/100km for the convertible).

A unique Innovations Package is also now available for the BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible 320d, 325i and 330d.

New alloy wheel options, together with subtle changes to the front and rear body design, complete the sporty appeal of the new models.

BMW Group Australia Managing Director, Stavros Yallouridis, said the BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible have enjoyed strong popularity in the Australian market.

“The timeless combination of dynamic performance and elegant design has seen the BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible perform extremely well in the Australian market for many years,” said Mr. Yallouridis.

“This model update reinforces those attributes while offering the customer even greater value for money,” he said.

Design changes in the new BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible include a wider and more prominent kidney grille with chrome band trim combined with wide air intakes and a clearly accentuated front lip serves to emphasize the wide track of each model, increasing the vehicles’ impressive on-road presence.

The rear of these models now display an accentuated character line stretching across the tail end and reducing the visual height through the interplay of light and shadow. New L-shaped rear taillights, typical of BMW, are now completely red, with LED night design glowing light banks.

Bi-Xenon Headlights, featuring four light rings which emit a light yellow glow for daytime driving, are a distinctive standard feature of the current 3 Series Coupé and Convertible. As a further enhancement, the standard specification of the new BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible includes Bi-Xenon headlights with modified contours and ‘eyebrows’ in addition to the four light rings which still emit a light yellow glow for daytime driving.

Also available as an option with the BMW Innovations Package, light rings with LED daytime driving lights combine advanced light technology with increased safety, low energy consumption, long service life and faster indication/brake response, while displaying instant BMW affiliation. LED light elements are now standard on the 335i M Sport models. The distinctly BMW-styled milky glass eyebrow is present on all vehicles, which cuts twin headlights slightly at the top and intensifies the focused gaze, and can be illuminated at night by LEDs as an option also on 320d, 325i and 330d models.

The wide range of colors and materials available for the interior of the new BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible include the standard Dakota leather upholstery now also available in the sophisticated Oyster, and Bamboo Grain, Anthracite trim is now available optionally across the range.

There are now three additional metallic colours available, being Vermilion Red, Deep Sea Blue and Mineral White, all serving to further enhance the sporty design of the vehicles. The 325i and 330d also both gain a revised styling of 17” Light-alloy Starspoke wheels, USB Audio Interface and Comfort Access System as standard.

The new BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible 320d, 325i and 330d feature the same engine line up as their predecessors. However, the 320d engine receives a power upgrade of 5kW and 30Nm of torque, resulting in a maximum output of 135kW and 380Nm. In addition to this, for the first time ever, the base model 320d offers a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, plus Automatic Start/Stop function and Optimum Shift Indicator, in addition to low rolling resistance tyres, making it both highly efficient and a truly dynamic driving experience.

The 335i M Sport has lost none of the power of its 335i predecessor, whilst dramatically reducing emissions and consumption. The 335i M Sport reduces fuel consumption by 8% on the outgoing model, thanks to its twin-scroll engine which employs high precision injection and VALVETRONIC fully variable valve management, producing 225 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque.

The BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible 335i feature an M Sport package as standard including a unique 19” Double–spoke light-alloy wheel, available exclusively for this model. The standard specification has been enriched by Comfort Access System, LED light elements and USB audio interface, while CD changer and TV function are now available as options. M Sport suspension may be deleted as a non-cost option.

All vehicles in the new Coupé and Convertible range enjoy vastly improved ride quality due to new damper technology, meaning a smoother and quieter ride for both the driver and passengers.

All new 3 Series Coupé and Convertible customers will enjoy the benefit of optional packages, including the Innovations Package for 320d, 325i, 330d which offers savings over individual option pricing.

There is also an exclusive M Sport package optionally available for 320d, 325i and 330d including M signature options ranging from sports seats and leather steering wheel to M Aerodynamic package and M Light Alloy Wheels.

The new 3 Series Coupé and Convertible range is now available in Australia from authorised BMW Dealers.

Distinctive exterior design enhancements convey increased on road presence.
Key highlights of the exterior design changes for the new BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible include:

• Light rings with LED daytime driving lights (optional) increasing safety and displaying instant BMW affiliation. Advanced light technology – Bi Xenon Headlights and LED light cluster emit a yellow glow for daytime driving. LED light elements only available as part of Innovations package but are standard on the 335i M Sport models. LEDs give increased safety through higher visibility, low energy consumption, long service life and faster indication/brake response.
• Wide air intakes with horizontal centre element and a clearly accentuated front lip emphasize the wide track/size of each model.
• Distinctive milky glass eyebrow – cuts twin headlights slightly at the top and intensifies the focused gaze (illuminated at night by LEDs) - optional.
• Wider and more prominent kidney grille with chrome band trim to emphasise road presence and muscular stance.
• At the rear there is now an accentuated character line stretching the width of the car and reducing the visual height through interplay of light and shadow.
• New L shaped rear taillights, typical of BMW, are now completely red and LED night design offers glowing light banks.
• Both the Coupé and Convertible enjoy subtle design modifications such as new side sill design to pull the vehicle visually closer to the road, a lengthened front section to underline the forward moving motion of car and on the Convertible a low shoulder line, creating a flat rear, even with its retractable hardtop.

Technical specifications: Superior engines and transmissions.
Powered by a new 3.0-litre TwinPower Turbo Technology engine that now features High Precision Injection and VALVTRONIC fully variable valve management, the BMW 335i M Sport delivers the same outstanding 225kW of power and 400Nm of torque as its 335i predecessor with improved fuel consumption of 8.4 litres per 100km for the Coupé and 8.8 litres per 100km for the Convertible.

For true sports performance, cues have been taken from the enormously popular BMW M3. The new engine is mated to either a standard six-speed manual gearbox or optional seven-speed Sports Automatic Double-Clutch Transmission with newly functioning gearshift paddles for quicker and more intuitive use enabling the seven-speed Coupé to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 5.4 seconds.

Leading on the efficiency front is the upgraded 2.0-litre turbo diesel four cylinder powerplant in the 320d that now delivers 5kW more power and 30Nm more torque together with reduced fuel consumption.

Generating a maximum power of 135kW at 4000rpm and peak torque of 380Nm between 1900rpm - 2750rpm, the new 320d offers an outstanding combined fuel consumption of just 4.7l/100km for the Coupé and 5.1l/100km for the Convertible when mated to the new six-speed manual gearbox.  This is the first time the 320d has been offered with a manual gearbox and its fitment has provided the opportunity to expand the application of BMW EfficientDynamics technologies including the standard Auto Stop/Start function and Optimum Shift Indicator.

As the entry level petrol engine, the straight six cylinder 2.5-litre unit in the 325i combines a perfect match of power and fuel efficiency generating peak outputs of 160kW at 6500rpm and 250Nm from 2750rpm - 4250rpm that enables the BMW 325i Coupé to sprint from 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds (Convertible 7.8 s). At the same time, combined fuel consumption is 8.7l/100km for the Coupé and 9.2l/100km for the Convertible when matched to the smooth shifting six-speed manual gearbox. Like the 320d, the 325i is also optionally available with a slick six-speed automatic transmission.

For outstanding performance and efficiency, the 3.0-litre straight six turbo diesel in the 330d generates 180kW at 4000rpm and a massive 520Nm between a low 1750rpm - 3000rpm providing supreme acceleration and a 0-100km/h time of just 6.1 seconds for the 330d Coupé. Matched to the standard six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles, the latest 3rd generation common-rail technology delivers a car that uses only 6.2 litres of fuel for every 100km.

BMW 335i M Sport now sportier and more unique, plus loaded with additional value.
The BMW 3 Series Sport Coupé  and Convertible with a new, unique and sporty appearance, enhanced by standard M Sport specification.

The new BMW 335i M Sport gains the features of the M Sport Package (M Sport suspension may be deleted as a non-cost option) as standard in addition to unique 19” light-alloy wheels Double–spoke 313 M which are available exclusively for this model. The standard specification has been enriched by Comfort Access System, LED light elements and USB audio interface.

Comfort, convenience and safety: luxury features for supreme comfort.
As the class-leading models in their segments, both the new BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible come very highly specified to offer customers a supreme level of comfort, convenience and safety.

Safety equipment is equally comprehensive with all models across the range featuring dual front, front side and full length side curtain airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Antilock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist and Cornering Brake Control (CBC), active front head restraints, Rain Sensor and rear Park Distance Control (PDC).

Reflecting the mid-range status of the 325i and 330d, these models also gain full electric sports front seats with lumbar support (330d only) and memory, Comfort Access System, Business Navigation System, cruise control with brake function and DSC with extended functions, with the 330d also featuring front Park Distance Control and the HiFi Loudspeaker system as standard.
